Saab was a Swedish car manufacturer founded in 1945 by the Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (Swedish Aeroplane Company) and was based in Trollhättan, Sweden. The company was known for producing a wide range of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and sports cars. Saab cars were known for their unique design, innovative technology, and strong focus on safety.
Saab's most famous models include the 900 and 9-3 sedans, as well as the 9-5 and 9-7X SUVs. The brand was also known for its sporty Turbo models and its focus on advanced safety features, such as its "Safety Cage" construction and advanced airbags. Saab also had a strong reputation for its turbocharged engines, which were considered to be among the most advanced and powerful in the industry.
Saab struggled financially and production halted in 2011, the company filed for bankruptcy in December 2011 and the brand was bought by the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) in 2012, production of the cars stopped in 2014 and the company filed for bankruptcy in December of that year. Some of the technologies, designs and the brand rights of Saab are still active and used by other companies.
